Description

This is a sharing event and talk bringing together all the work from the Silence and Song participatory events. These events invited women to take part in filming, poetry, embroidery, song and drama workshops and help create an installation which will tour with the production of The 306:Day.


The sharing will also include a panel discussion The 306: Day – Women in WW1. The discussion will focus on the making of The 306: Day and the history and research behind the women and families featured in the piece. The talks will also discuss the role women played on the front line and the home front during the First World War.


The speakers will include Oliver Emanuel (writer) and Gareth Williams (composer) as well as other researchers and historians in the field of Women and WW1. It will be chaired by Jane Fowler, formerly Co-ordinator of BBC Scotland’s WW1 Programming.


The 306: Day is the forthcoming production from National Theatre of Scotland, Perth Theatre, Stellar Quines, in association with Red Note Ensemble and co-commissioned with 14-18 NOW, the UK's arts programme for the First World War centenary.
