Great technology will market itself - right? Wrong.

Essential early-stage marketing for tech startups - getting to product/market fit and Series A

A Voices from the Valley Masterclass with Oxford Angel Fund Investor & Alumna Paula Skokowski

In this masterclass, Paula Skokowski, (St. Edmund Hall, Eng Sci ‘80) early employee and marketing leader at multiple VC-backed tech startups, shares her experiences on the essential marketing every early stage tech startup needs to accelerate getting to product/market fit and Series A. Early-stage technology companies with tech founders will typically focus foremost on the development of the technology, getting early customer engagement, and leave consideration of marketing to after Series A. Drawing on her experience as Chief Marketing Officer for a series of tech startups, and Co-Founder and Fund Manager for the Oxford Angel Fund, Paula will illustrate through examples how brand development, and positioning and messaging are foundational building blocks for early stage tech startups, enabling acceleration of customer engagement, reaching product/market fit, and getting to Series A and beyond.
