Floating Silk Hammock Meditation, Mindfulness and Sound Alchemy

Join experienced and accredited meditation & mindfulness teacher, Gail Donnan for a wonderful, relaxing experience at Jion Studios! After settling into a floating silk hammock, you will be guided through different styles of meditation & mindfulness techniques with additional sound alchemy to aid relaxation and soothing of your nervous system.

Gail Donnan is an accredited meditation & mindfulness instructor, trained in sound therapy, is a Vagus Nerve practitioner, an Interdisciplinary Psychologist, EMDR Psychotherapist, Reiki Master Teacher Practitioner, Safeguard Lead, fully insured with DBS. She is also the author of two mental health & well-being books.

What to bring?

A bottle of water, blanket, small pillow and warm socks or slippers, layered clothing as the body's temperature drops during relaxation states.

6.50pm onwards

Settling into hammocks with support from myself

Few minutes of sound alchemy

Breathwork

Progressive Muscle Relaxation

Moving through the brainwaves

Inner Journey and Mindfulness techniques

Visualisations

Fifteen minutes of sound (Crystal bowls and steel hand pan)

Silent unguided time

Grounding, Koshi Chimes and Tingsha bells

Stretching

Sharing, contra-actions, aftercare and next date

Contra-indications to Sound

Sound baths are generally considered safe for most people, but it is generally recommended that pregnant individuals, especially during the first trimester, consult with their healthcare provider before participating. While many sound baths are gentle and relaxing, some individuals may prefer to avoid certain frequencies or vibrations during pregnancy. Epilepsy or seizure disorders, severe mental health conditions, and recent surgery. People with pacemakers, metal implants, or certain ear conditions like Meniere's disease should also exercise caution. Additionally, those with acute infections or injuries should avoid sound healing until they have recovered.

Contra-indications to Meditation

People with a history of psychosis, severe anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder may experience worsening symptoms. If you have a pre-existing mental health condition please consult with your GP .
