Silk Strings & Viennese Waltzes - A Journey of the Zither

Although the Viennese zither and the Chinese guzheng come from different traditions, their voices share a haunting similarity – delicate, intimate, and full of resonance.

Once made famous by Anton Karas in The Third Man, the Viennese zither is now rarely heard. In this special concert, we reimagine its sound world through the guzheng, its distant cousin from China.

Our wonderful guest Qing Du brings the instrument to life with shimmering tones that recall the nostalgia and charm of Vienna’s cafés.

The County Hall Quartet comprises four acclaimed and award-winning musicians:

Please join us for a relaxed and inspiring musical break in the beautiful Artists' Tea Room, where no words are necessary as music becomes our common language. (Please note there will be no food or dink available to purchase in the café on this occasion)

Attendees should enter County Hall via the main entrance on Belvedere Road - and then follow signs to the Tea Room.
