About this event

About This Session

Silver Sisters is a welcoming Circle for women over 60 to come together, share openly, and support one another through the transitions and experiences of later life.

This space is designed to hold the unique joys and challenges that arise in this season, whether it’s identity shifts, relationships, health, ageing, or purpose, with warmth, wisdom, and compassion.

Facilitated by experienced therapists Carol Martin-Sperry and Louise Coopman, Silver Sisters offers a peer-to-peer space for honest conversation, connection, and mutual understanding. While our facilitators are trained professionals, this Circle is not a therapy group. Instead, it’s a place for shared stories, reflection, and deep listening.

At its heart, Silver Sisters is about community and friendship, building bonds with others who know what it means to walk this path.

What to Expect:

  • Open Conversations: Explore meaningful topics that matter to women in this stage of life, whatever is present for you, from loss or change to joy and renewal.
  • Supportive Environment: A safe, respectful space for vulnerability, insight, and shared wisdom.
  • Connection & Friendship: Meet others who “get it.” This is a place to forge friendships and find solidarity in shared experience.

Whether you’re navigating change, seeking deeper connection, or simply craving thoughtful conversation, Silver Sisters offers a grounding, nurturing space to be heard, seen, and supported. To help cover the costs of running this event and ensure we can continue offering events like this, we kindly ask for a minimum contribution of £5. Your contribution goes a long way in making this event a success. If you’re able to give more, it would be greatly appreciated but most importantly we hope you can join us and enjoy the event.

Raised in France and England, Louise Coopman is bilingual in English and French and embraces a rich blend of English and French cultures. Early in her career, she trained and worked as a teacher of French and English as foreign languages, motivated by a love of travel. She broadened her horizons through extended stays in Egypt, Morocco, Greece, and the Caribbean, nurturing a lifelong appreciation for multicultural perspectives. A resident of Queen’s Park for over 35 years, Louise raised her two children in the neighbourhood and feels deeply rooted in the local community.

With 40 years’ experience as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, Louise worked extensively within the NHS before establishing a private practice in Harley Street. Her clinical expertise spans a broad range of adult disorders, with a particular focus on Schema-Focused Therapy — a compassionate and comprehensive approach to addressing relationship issues, depression, and personality disorders. Now mostly retired, she maintains a small online practice and is keen to strengthen her community connections in Queen’s Park.---
