This seminar is open to all registered healthcare practitioners who care for older people.
This one day study day aims to increase knowledge and skills of practitioners in recognizing the impact of Silver trauma in frailty, understanding the need for a full assessment and practically being able to apply knowledge to practice, knowing when to refer and when an how to manage Silver trauma in Older people living with Frailty.
At the end of the study day the practitioner will be able to :
- Appreciate the facts and why Silver trauma is an issue in older people
- Understand how older people present with Silver trauma in innocuous ways and why these can have a major impact on their health and well-being
- Understand and use a systematic approach to assessing older people with frailty and trauma
- Understand the physiological changes in older people.
- Describe and apply a silver trauma primary, secondary survey and silver survey on an older person following silver trauma
