Event Details

This Autumn come and join Nature Links for some outdoor family fun and learning at Silverhall Nature Park.

Silverhall Nature Club is an outdoor playgroup, based on the Forest School approach to learning, for children under five and their grown ups.  Our aim is to provide an opportunity for families to be active outside, make new friends and enjoy new experiences together in their local area.

Each week our Leaders will prepare outdoor play activities for you and your child to enjoy at our specially prepared site.  Although we introduce a theme each week our supportive team always encourage children to follow their own ideas and interests.

Sessions are run by Heidi and Sarah who are qualified teachers, Forest School Leaders, 1st aiders and DBS checked.  You and your children will be in expert hands for our morning together.

Who is welcome?

There is space for a maximum of twelve families at each session.  Children need to be supervised by you at all times.  For this reason there is a limit of two children and one baby per adult.

We want all local families to have a chance to join in and visit us.  Due to the popularity of our previous sessions we have limited classes to a maximum of three visits per family.

£1 per family payable on arrival.

What should we wear?

There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes! We go outside whatever the weather and the best way to prepare for your adventure is by dressing yourself and your child appropriately.

You will need:

  • Long sleeved tops and trousers -  even on a beautiful sunny day we will be in the shade and it will be a little cooler - long layers protect from scratches and insects
  • Waterproof tops and bottoms in case of rain - We are able to provide waterproof trousers for children.  Please make sure you both have waterproof coats.
  • Jumper of fleece
  • Sturdy shoes, boots or wellies - We will be outside on uneven ground.  We like to climb and explore and you and your child must be able to do this safely in your footwear.  NO sandals, crocs or open toed shoes please.
  • Hat
  • Insect repellant
  • If it is raining you might will need an extra layer and a hat too

Who has funded this project?

This project is possible thanks to funding from Carillion Integrated services working on behalf of London Borough of Hounslow.

Where do we meet?

Please join us at the Silverhall Nature Park gate on Mill Plat at 10am.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

117, 267, 481 all stop at Mandeville Road.

H37, 267 and 481 all stop at Isleworth War Memorial

Isleworth train station is a fifteen minute walk from the park.

The postcode for the park is TW7 6RE

There is limited parking on the surrounding streets.  Please park considerately. We strongly advise using public transport.

What will happen if it is raining/snowing?

We adventure in all weathers unless there are extremely high winds or the temperature drops below zero.  Being outside in different weathers is an extremely valuable learning experience for young children.  When it rains we put up a shelter for families who want to keep dry.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

You can email Heidi or call the Nature Links mobile 07494 582 459.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Nature Links

Nature is never very far away. Building a stick den, squelching through the woods, floating pooh sticks under a bridge – all part of city life. You just have to know where to look. A safe environment for children that’s boundless and unexpected. It’s what Nature Links is all about.

We can help to plan your adventures. We’re also ‘Forest School’ accredited and curate our own wild experiences in the city. You’ll find our sessions in Crane Park, Whitton, and the surrounding areas of Hounslow. Or wherever the adventure takes us …

A primary teacher since 2004, Director and Founder Heidi’s classrooms have always stretched far and wide. From the sub-zero Alps to the beaches of Sardinia. Whether it’s babes in arms or teenagers, Heidi’s been privileged to witness the huge developmental benefits that natural environments can bring.

Heidi has a degree in the Advanced Study of Early Years and has extensive experience of working with children who have specialist needs. As well as being a Makaton trained practitioner, Heidi is a Level 3 Forest School Leader and a certified outdoor 1st aider.

Having led many adventures and expeditions, Heidi is able to draw on a team of contacts with expertise that can make the experience of nature both vivid and life changing. All part of our Nature Links family. And it’s right outside your door.
