Simon Mayor & Hilary James

"Uplifting...magic" BBC Radio 3

"Virtuoso mandolin, elegant vocals, guitar and fiddle wizardry, and a stage show that ranges from witty to hilarious. Expect anything from a Vivaldi concerto, trad folk, jazz standards, Celtic, ragtime, blues and, of course, that song about the parrot!" - Ents24

Simon Mayor "One of the world’s great mandolinists" (BBC Radio 3) Simon Mayor’s many faceted career includes his own series on BBC Radio 2, an album in the Classic FM Top Ten chart and causing mayhem at a Canadian humour festival. He is also a fine guitarist and plays fiddle with enough swing to feature on the album for the show Five Guys Name Mo. He's also written a critically acclaimed anthology of poems, limericks and anecdotes, 'Of Death and a Banana Skin' with illustrations and augmented reality animations by Hilary James. www.mandolin.co.uk

Hilary James With a top ten album of the year in The Sunday Times, Radio 2 playlisting and a voice that easily crosses the great musical divides from folksong to blues, Irving Berlin and Berlioz, Hilary James has travelled the globe from Los Angeles to Singapore. She's illustrated a variety of CDs and books for both children and adults. A fine guitarist she is also famed for an unusual taste in bass instruments, including her amazing bass mandolin. Have mandobass will travel! www.hilaryjames.com
