A talk about mindful eating, offering key tips to help people improve their eating habits and their relationship with food.

About this Event

~ Do you feel out of control of your eating?

~ Are you trapped in a cycle of yo-yo dieting?

~ Do you find it hard to maintain healthy eating habits long-term?

~ Do you eat large portions, and/or do you eat quickly?

~ Do you feel you can't face another diet, but are you really wanting to tackle your eating habits and lose weight once and for all?

My talk ‘Simple Steps To More Mindful Eating’ will help you to think about your own behaviours and thought processes when it comes to eating. It will be helpful for anyone wanting to set up and maintain long-term healthy eating habits, to feel more in charge of their eating, and to develop a healthier relationship with food. We will look at unhelpful beliefs, thoughts and attitudes about food, eating and dieting, and how to become a more mindful eater.

The talk will cover various topics such as:-

~ The benefits of not labelling foods as 'good' or 'bad'

~ How to improve our relationship with food by not relying on weight loss diets

~ How to shift out of the black & white mindset (being either ‘good' or 'bad' with food)

~ Blood sugar management and its link with insulin, fat storage and appetite

~ How to start trusting ourselves around food

~ The benefits of allowing ourselves to eat the foods we love and how this positively affects eating behaviour

~ What a 'good' food choice really means

~ ‘Autopilot': its link with overeating and what to do about it

~ How to address common 'crooked' thinking that can make us overeat or make poor food choices

~ The two brains: the importance of using both parts when it comes to food decisions and eating

~ Common unhelpful excuses we use to eat and how to notice when they’re happening

~ How self-awareness and self-insight is the key to positive change.

Becoming a more mindful eater can help you to improve your current eating habits, enjoy less food more, achieve successful weight management and get into the habit of considering what to eat, how much to eat, whether to eat and the eating process itself in any given situation. Ditch those diets and focus on becoming a more mindful eater!
