Simplifying new product development using of 3D print and digital simulation
26th October 2016
12-30 – 1-30pm
This workshop will look at when and how to use digital technologies in product development.
Alistair Williamson from Lucid will discuss using 3D print, scanning and design to improve products and services, better engage users and target resources. With over 20 years-experience using digital tools, Lucid’s team has extensive know-how when they can be useful and useless.
Take-aways will include insights into simple techniques to accelerate projects, get the most from a product development budget and focus on user needs.
Case study examples will include medical, cosmetic and scientific product and service development, including wireless therapeutic and diagnostic devices, with connected, interactive apps. The projects involved include examples of engagement between Lucid, Universities, the NHS and commercial organisations.
Participants will have the opportunity to network over lunch and see 3D digital scanning, 3D print, 3D CAD and electronics simulation tools in action after the event at Lucid’s studio and workshops Greenheys.
