Event description

Description

Join the Sinfonia of Birmingham at its next performance, on Saturday 22nd June, 2019 at 7.30pm at St Andrew's Church, Barnt Green. This concert is part of this year's exciting Bromsgrove Festival programme.

The music for this concert, conducted by Guest Conductor Keith Slade, will start with Mozart's Symphony no. 31 ('Paris'), which he wrote when unsuccessfully looking for a job in Paris at the age of 22. It will be followed Mozart's much-loved Clarinet Concerto - written in the final year of his short life. The Sinfonia is pleased to be welcoming the wonderfully-talented Luisa Rosina as the soloist. The second half of the concert will be a performance of Mendelssohn's Symphony no. 3 ('Scottish'). He had been inspired to write this when on a walking holiday in Scotland with a friend, and writing to his family that he had found the beginning of his Scottish Symphony.

We look forward to bringing you a summer's evening of scintillating, spirited music.
