Event description

Description

Join the Sinfonia of Birmingham at its next performance, on Saturday 5th October at 7.30pm at St Mary's Church, Warwick.

The music for this concert, conducted by Michael Seal, will start with Webern's Passacaglia - a set of 23 continuous variations over a ground bass, with more than a hint of Brahms' fourth symphony. It will be followed by the Shostakovich Violin Concerto No. 1 - written just after World War II in symphonic form. The Sinfonia is delighted to be welcoming the wonderful Zoë Beyers as the soloist, with whom it has performed many exhilarating and stimulating solos. The second half of the concert will be a performance of Sibelius' Symphony No. 1, which begins and ends in mystery, but has dramatic and romantic passages inbetween.

Tickets for this concert can be purchased via Eventbrite until 7pm on Friday 4th October 2019.
