About this event

For anyone of any age who wants to sing folk songs and sea shanties, and connect across the generations. This is a non-audition choir with the belief that singing is for everyone.

Lead by Pearl Legay-Clarke, leader of Stroud Folk Choir, we'll sing a mixture of traditional and contemporary folk songs in two and three part harmony, as well as some rounds and ditties.

The sessions will be open on a drop in basis whilst we grow.

Words will be kept clean and simple songs will be chosen so that we can enjoy singing together without remembering too many words.

I am keen to make this a fun space for all so I ask that the children who come are keen to sing (or to listen to the singing if they are littl'uns). Teens are welcome to come alone, they just need a parent to sign up and give contact details.

Costs:

£8 per adult

£3.50 per child over 5 years

I know that people are experiencing financial burden at the moment so if you'd like to come but are struggling then please just have a word with me and we can agree a concessionary rate that is comfortable for you.

4.30-6pm Wednesdays from 10th January at the Dursley Tab, Community Room, Parsonage Street.

(Please note this is not in the Church. From the Church head away from town, past the youth Centre and the up the steps/ ramp on the right, where you'll see a red door on the right of the path).
