Event description

Description

To celebrate Chester Pride Silver Rainbows are hosting a screening of the Wizard of Oz - Sing-Along at The Grosvenor Museum, Chester.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Calling all Dorothys, Tin Men, Scarecrows, Lions and Witches (Good and Wicked!) join us as we don our ruby slippers and follow the yellow brick road.

The original and the best trip to Oz from 1939 starring Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr and Jack Haley. A tornado whisks Dorothy and her house from Kansas to Munchkin City, squashing the Wicked Witch of the East on landing. The Wicked Witch of the West vows revenge, while Dorothy sets off on the yellow brick road to see the Wizard of Oz, hoping he can tell her how to get home. On the way she makes friends with a scarecrow, a tin man and a cowardly lion - With the Wicked Witch out to get her, will Dorothy ever get home again?

The words to all the songs will be shown on the screen so everyone can join in and belt out the timeless classics.

The film will be shown in the Grosvenor Museum's Victorian lecture theatre. The atmospheric setting is hung with pieces from the museum’s art collection and seats 125 on fixed, raked seating.

Doors open from 5.00pm with refreshments included and the screening will start at 5.30pm with a run time of approx 102 minutes.

Advance tickets £4.00

On the day £5.00

All profits will go to Chester Pride.
