A six weekly online Sing For Earth series of song, embodiment and creative exploration.
About this event
A series of six sessions hosted by Liz Terry with a team of Special Guests contributing songs, ways into song making and embodiment practices. During each session we will share grounding mindful practices, energising sound and movement warm ups, and seasonal uplifting songs. This year we are offering ways into supporting and encouraging people to create simple songlets and chants. Our team of Artists, Natural Voice Practitioners and Facilitators will be sharing ways to help you to access your creativity - even if you have never written a song or chant in your life! Come and have a go as, from our collective experience in facilitating creative song making people often surprise themselves with what is possible and it can also a joyful and energising process!
For those of you who already write songs and poems, we hope this can be a stimulating place of creative enquiry to further support your songs and lyric writing. Our 2022 theme for Sing For Earth Day is Ancestral Lands as one of the initiatives we are supporting this year is a 'Land Back' Campaign being led by Pat McAbe and her community in the US- buying back Ancestral Land.
We will be sharing more about this during the weekly sessions and connecting to what that means to you and to us collectively.
The sessions are designed to enhance well being and to stand in solidarity together with others who are most effected by the Ecological Crisis and the Climate Breakdown. Our creative based work draws inspiration from The Work That Reconnects and each session we actively tend to grief and cultivate gratitude by planting seeds of gratitude with song.In between each weekly session, we encourage you to take the songs and nature based practices outdoors near to where you live. We also have a collection of songs and movement practices which are all down loadable for free from the Sing For Earth Day website- www.singforeathday.co.uk
