Sing On!

Group Singing Workshop with Kate Buttolph

Singing as a group has been proven to have huge health benefits for those who take part, including, but not restricted to, an increased feeling of connection; regulating your heard beat; reducing stress and depression; improving symptoms of Parkinson's and lung disease; and potentially increasing life expectancy. This hour-long session will warm up your voice and get you singing in chorus. No previous experience or perceived talent required! All ages and abilities encouraged to attend.

Kate Buttolph is a community artist specialising in voice-based work: sung and spoken word, and she is also an experienced theatre maker, composer and arranger. She is the artistic director of Play On, a community arts company which delivers performing arts based workshops and projects with community groups across the Midlands and Wales.

Kate is currently working with Live Age on our Live Age Engage programme, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. Kate is working with Jill Rezzano, Head of New Vic Education, to deliver programmes to people living with the early stages of dementia, and to adults in Bentilee.

“It was such a professional performance... They looked to be really enjoying themselves. Kate's leadership has been crucial to what the group achieve. She has set the standard so very high and they reach it.”
