Event description
MEMBERS EVENT This afternoon concert and charity reception celebrates the 275th anniversary of the Rotunda Foundation.

About this Event

Newly-formed Irish Doctors Orchestra, conductor Prionsias O'Duinn, will perform a programme of music associated with the city of Dublin. The concert will be held in the Pillar Room and it will feature the work of George Fredrick Handel, who himself performed there at a time when music was recognised as a part of healing. Irish Doctors Choir have been invited to sing four short pieces with the orchestra during the concert, including See the Conquering Heroes from Judas Maccabeus and the Hallelujah chorus from The Foundling Anthem. The full choral programme, including vocal scores, is available on the IDC website now.

To take part, members must attend an all-day rehearsal at An Grianán* on Sunday March 22nd as well as rehearsals at the Rotunda from 9.30am on the day of the performance. The concert should end by 4.30 pm and performers are invited to stay on for the drinks reception afterwards.

* This will be the third day of our annual residential. We encourage all our members to participate in the entire weekend but Sunday-only attendance is possible. An additional charge will be payable to the house
