Join Choir Leader Eleanor Rastall and accompanist Ben Lewis-Smith for a fun and sunny one-off Summer Choir Workshop at the Welsh Chapel in Clapham Junction! Open to all adults; all experience levels welcome.
Journey through a varied mix of musical styles from pop to Italian opera to folk music and more!
We promise:
😄 fun
🎶 a creative interlude learning something new
💪 some positive challenges and the chance to achieve something bigger than you could do alone
❤️ enhanced physical and mental wellbeing
🤝 a chance to meet and get to know new people
The workshop includes:
- a physical and vocal warm up - to let go of the working week, engage with the group, release some tension and get our voices buzzing!
- learning a round or simple song all together then creating some harmony and different layers of challenge by adding elements as we go
- working on several songs in different musical styles and 3 or 4 part harmony, accompanied by piano
Perfection is not expected, laughter is!
The workshop is open to all adults who want to sing. Sheet music and/or lyrics will be provided. Bring water and a pencil - and anything else you think you might need (eg snacks for breaktime)
Eleanor Rastall is a London-based Choir Leader and Singing teacher with nearly 20 years experience. She loves helping people find and explore their voices, learn how to sing with ease and flow, relax and enjoy whatever singing they want to do!
Her choir members say:
🎶 I love [choir] for the combination of challenge, camaraderie and joy it brings me
🎶 A lovely way to loosen up, learn loads and laugh a lot
🎶 Highlight of the week - helps relieve the stresses of the daily grind
🎶 You can have had a stressful day but once the warm ups start it’s easy to shake it off and lose yourself in singing
