Overview

Join our series of fun and celebratory singing workshops exploring wonderful songs about women and their achievements.

We are excited to invite you to join Choir Leader Sarah Owen for a series of fun, celebratory singing workshops learning songs from Dreadnought's range of songs from Oxygen to songs inspired by the Rebellious Sounds Archive. These are taking place in February and culminating on the 8th of March to mark International Women's Day. Join us for a space full of care and cheer and remembrance of those who have inspired us along the way.

The songs being shared are all wonderful songs about women and their achievements. The workshops are here to bring you a sense of using your voice and being part of a community choir. All of the songs are originally composed by Claire Ingleheart, with lyrics by a range of song writers.

Workshop dates:

  1. Saturday 14th February, 2.30-4.30pm
  2. Saturday 21st February, 2.30-4.30pm
  3. Saturday 28th February, 12.30-2.30pm
  4. Sunday 8th March 3-5pm - the final workshop and sharing of songs for International Women’s Day. This will be part of Dreadnought South West's Occupy the Airwaves - a celebration of women’s voices broadcast on Phonic FM, Exeter's community radio station.

Please note: this is a series of workshops, so you'll need to attend them all. If you book for the first one, you'll be signed up for the whole series.

This women's workshop is aimed at adults. Children 11+ may also take part and must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Babes in arms are also welcome.
