DfE, Keeping children safe in education places a strong emphasis on the importance of safer recruitment within schools and education settings. This half day training course will support participants to understand and know how to evidence the different pre-employment checks through the effective maintenance and quality assurance of the single central record. This half day course will support schools to ensure they are fully compliant with statutory requirements. Course content will include:

• Overview of all pre-required checks and evidence required for staff, governors, contractors, visitors, volunteers, and supply staff.

• Example single central record and quality assurance templates.

• Safer recruitment file and required evidence of pre-employment checks.

• Quality assurance of the single central record.

Who should attend?

Head teachers, deputy headteachers, governors, designated safeguarding leads and deputies, business managers and those responsible for the day-to-day maintenance or quality assurance of the SCR.
