Event description

Description

Miller began her singing career with a bang in 2008 when she and Jeana Leslie won BBC Young Folk Award. Earlier this year, her version of "Banks of Newfoundland" collected Best Traditional Track at the Folk Awards, held at the The Belfast Waterfront. This was a track from her second solo album, Strata which had propelled her to a nomination for Folk Singer of the Year, won by fellow Scot, Karine Polwart. She wasn't about to rest on her laurels: this gifted singer from Penicuik near Edinburgh was already expanding her horizons and rwas back in the recording studio. On November 2, she releases "Mercury", her first album of entirely original material. Listen to the title track on BBC Radio 2’s Folk Show here.

Siobhan will be accompanied by a small band featuring Euan Burton (double bass), Aidan Moodie (guitar, vocals), and John Lowrie (piano)

Playing a short set to begin proceedings on the night will be traditional vocal trio, Caffrey, McGurk & Madge
