Organised by

The Wine College is a training centre for hospitality staff and wine tasting events organizer in the North of England.

The real experience of serving, tasting, savouring and drinking wines is at the heart of our teaching and learning. You already know a little but not enough about wine, so have a desire to take your knowledge to the next level. You may want to work in the hospitality industry, perhaps you already do, or you may be a wine lover who appreciates good wines but wants to know more about where it comes from and the varieties available; whatever your reason, this course is designed for you.

The aim of the course is to provide you with the basic knowledge needed to appreciate fine wines, where they come from, how to store them and when and how to serve them. During the day there will be wine tasting (that’s the good part) where you will get to sample six different and delicious wines.

This culminates with an evaluation which will test your understanding and knowledge of wine.

The main host of the Sheffield Wine Festival is Octavian ‘Tavi’ Vasilescu. He was born in Transylvania and is proud to say that his passion for wine and food came from his Grandfather.

With training in Milan, Harrogate and Leeds, Tavi’s experience in wine experience stretches across almost 20 years.

During this time, he has co-ordinated thousands of wine tastings, trained hundreds of wine consultants and is the author of several wine guides.
