Event description

Description

Sir Horace Jones Lecture in partnership with London Historians

We mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of the man best known for designing Tower Bridge (1894). But he has also left an indelible stamp on the City with designs for three of our finest markets, still standing today: Smithfield (1867), Billingsgate (1878) and Leadenhall (1881). For Guildhall he designed the now-lost Council Chamber, Guildhall Library and Museum (1873), and also the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (1886). Join Colin Davey, founder member of London Historians and a City Guide, to learn more.

Includes wine reception.

Refunds will only be given if places are cancelled more than 48hours prior to an event (minus the booking fee) or if an event is cancelled by GHL.
