At Sir John Cass’s Foundation, we have reached another milestone in Cass’s 300-year history and are embarking on a fundraising programme to enable us, with your support, to substantially increase the number of disadvantaged children and young people in London whom we help each year.
At this inaugural event, we are raising funds to support the bursaries awarded, where disadvantaged young people have promising futures but are unable to apply for the education and support they need for their future. We’ll match any contribution that you make.
We’ve shared in some great success stories such as:
YOUR HOST AND AUCTIONEER
Graham Cole, OBE PC Tony Stamp in 1094 episodes of The Bill
The Foundation will match fund your donations, with no administration fees charged, to make your gift go even further.
Please help us make this event a fun night to remember with money raised going to disadvantaged young people – if you’d like we’ll keep you informed of their progress.
Who we are
Sir John Cass’s Foundation is one of London’s oldest and largest education charities.
Founded in 1748, it supports education for young people in London through its grant programmes for individuals, schools and organisations and its support for a number of institutions bearing Sir John Cass’s name.
What we do
Today, the Foundation has links in the nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary sectors of education.
It provides support to its primary and nursery school in the City of London and its secondary school in Tower Hamlets, as well as the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art,
Architecture and Design at London Metropolitan University, the Cass Business School, and the Cass School of Education and Communities at the University of East London.
The Foundation also funds schools and organisations benefitting young people from inner London and provides support with education costs to disadvantaged children from inner London.
Why are we raising funds?
Maybe you are wondering why the Foundation is fundraising when it has assets of its own? There’s a good reason.
We receive many more applications than we can ever support and we’d like to extend our ability to give grants to many more deserving organisations and individuals.
Our first Fundraising Dinner is to help us to support grants for scholarships to disadvantaged young individuals in need.
We will match-fund your donation and will not charge any administrative fees so the full amount goes to this worthwhile project.
