The Asia Scotland Institute is delighted to welcome Sir Mark Lyall Grant to Glasgow on the 9th of October. His presentation will include:
- The 4 main strategic threats facing the UK and Western democracies. Is our liberal order under threat?
- Post Brexit, the UK's role in international defence.
- Threats from multinationals and the Internet.
Our guest speaker is a global expert in National Security and today is a leading adviser in Strategy Intelligence. Advising to all levels of government across the world, including global institutions such as the United Nations.
Sir Mark Lyall Grant is also a former National Security Adviser to Prime Ministers David Cameron and Theresa May. A former senior British diplomat, Sir Mark Lyall Grant held posts including Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations (2009-15), where he held the office of President of the United Nations Security Council four times. He is now a Senior Advisor at Strategic Intelligence consultancy, CTD Advisors.
Global Security and the Nation State will be the area of focus of this talk.
