About this Event

“You are not alone. When you exist in spaces that weren’t built for you, remember sometimes that just being you is the revolution.” Elaine Welteroth

Sitting with Discomfort is an ongoing conversation about the impact of systemic racism and or white supremacy. In response to the response following the death of George Floyd and the untold deaths and acts of violence affecting Black lives.

SWD returns this autumn/winter with a series of talks by creatives, activists and changemakers articulating critical perspectives on the reality of racism in Britain today.

These sessions centre the lived experiences and humanity of Black British voices.

This is a safe space to share thoughtf, feelings and experiences centred around race. If you are simply curious, then this is not for you.

If you are committed to working in active mutual support of others towards change, welcome.

PLEASE NOTE CAMERAS MUST REMAIN ON DURING THE SESSION IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN SAFTEY WITHIN THE SPACE FOR EVERYONE.

ORGANISERS RESVERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE PARTICIPANTS FROM THE SPACE IF THEY DO NOT COMPLY WITHTHE ETHOS OF THE EVENT.

In order to enabe greater access we offer these sessions free of charge but they are not without costs. Please support us: https://gf.me/u/ynsa3d
