The threat of another referendum is one of the main uncertainties for North East businesses, large and small. Brexit, the oil price and business rates contribute towards today's economic uncertainty, but despite severe blows in the Council and General election, the SNP persevere.

At this short lunch you will be able to:

Keynote Address "Scottish Business and Independence: Where are we now, what can we do?"

Jack Perry, former Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise will discuss the current business climate across Scotland, and the impact of external influences such as Brexit, business rates and Scottish taxation. Jack will offer his views on what the business community can and should do to influence events. Afterwards a panel of well known business leaders will join a discussion with the audience.

Jack is chairman of listed investment companies, European Assets Trust and ICG-Longbow Senior Debt. He is also a non-executive director of the Witan Investment Trust plc. He was awarded a CBE in 2010. Jack was a member of the Independent Commission for Competitive and Fair Taxation in Scotland which reported in February 2016.
