VENUE: Dick Chester Hall
Michael Hall School

RH18 5JA

Date: Equinox 21st September
Time: 5pm to 9pm

Investment:
Full Journey (Cacao and Kirtan) – advance booking only (so we can prepare the cacao): £30 high wage, £25 medium wage, £20 low wage (please pay the amount you can afford)
Kirtan only – £10 or £15 on the door

Kirtan is to sing the profoundly healing sounds of Sanskrit mantra, effortlessly dropping our awareness out of our busy minds and into our hearts. Kirtan is from the path of Bhakti Yoga (pure love and compassion) and responds to where you are it and what you need in that moment, whether that is to bring you to a space of calm or elation. It can be deeply moving and incredibly joyful. During the Kirtan, Sivani Mata will play the harmonium and be join by other musicians to support the journey.

In addition to the Kirtan, we will be holding the space to dive into the heart with the ancient sacred medicine that is Cacao. Used in ceremony She invites us to journey deep into our hearts, welcome in clarity, let go of negative emotions and align with truth. In our circle together we will set intentions and drink the cacao, after which the invitation is to lie down and journey into a liminal space where we can be open to the guidance of the heart.

Cacao (chocolate in it's pure form) is a plant medicine from Central and South America. The cacao we will be drinking is raw, organic, non-GMO, ceremonial grade cacao from Asháninka tribes of the Peruvian Amazon, this cacao has been lovingly grown and fairly traded every step of the way. Cacao contains the active ingredient Theobromine which translates as "food of the gods" and was used by native peoples in communion with the divine. Cacao also has numerous health benefits and contains antioxidants, iron, magnesium, copper and zinc, as well as Anandamide ("the bliss molecule") which the body produces when in love and gives the sensation of a natural high.

If you are joining for the Cacao Ceremony:
• bring a mug
• bring a journal/notebook & pen
• you may like to feel into your intention for the ceremony in advance – what you would like to bring in to and/or release from your life.

Please let me know if:
• you are taking any medication particularly anti depressants (as cacao introduces serotonin into the system which anti depressants also do).
• you have a heart condition (as cacao increases the blood flow to the brain and heart by at least 40%).
• you are pregnant.

From Sivani Mata's Website..
Sivani Mata Francis is a student of Bhakti Yoga (the yoga of love and devotion) and began her journey with this practice through attending various Kirtans in London and on her travels. Particularly with family band GOMA, who inspired her to live in trust and bhakti spirit in all aspects of life. She began to lead Kirtan after spending New Year 2009 with the wonderful Jai Uttal on his Kirtan camp, followed by a Yoga Teacher Training in Mexico at the Yandara Yoga Institute, where an incredible resident kirtan band, Jaya made chanting a key element. Since then Sivani has been running chanting circles and gatherings in the UK. Sivani has released three kirtan albums I AM (2012), Shakti Live (2015) and the most recent a double disc album: Surrender (2016), all produced by bhakti musical magician Tabla Tom (all are available to purchase on our sister site: The Bhakti Bazaar)
Sivani has fallen in love with the path of Bhakti Yoga (of which chanting is a key element), and organised the UK’s first ever Bhakti Music Festival (in August 2011), which brought devotional musical practices from various traditions together as one, in the spirit of universal love and devotion. Following on from this she now organises BE LOVE ~ 11hour Bhakti Immersions in London.

Sivani Mata feels incredibly blessed to have found this divine practice and be able to share it with others
