Making friendships…

'It’s not just about the comedy and being a stand up comedian it’s a great way to learn to speak in public and face an audience and to gain confidence.' Jo Baughan-kiddle

When you realise that you can be funny - you boost your confidence, it literally builds beyond what you can imagine is possible. And that is because the creative ways that comedy promote, sky rocket the effects of comedy skills learned, which can then filter into every aspect of your life.

These classes aim to build that confidence inside.

Not just a comedy class for now – but for life!

Techniques such as crafting jokes, developing stories and understanding the potential of physical language/gesture and clowning, will be demonstrated and practiced. What will you learn?

An understanding of the fundamentals to creating comedy.

Techniques to enhance your speaking skills and comedy voice.

How to draw on your experiences/stories to ‘find the funny’.

Maggie's pioneering workshops aim to raise confidence levels, generate humour; improve performance skills and become better improvisers.

Maggie’s classes teach people to take risks and connect with others through playful activities. She asks that you remain open to experience the absurd and the ridiculous, embrace chaos and silence – and engage with your own physicality and self-awareness.

This is a brilliant opportunity for people to up-skill and engage positively with self-awareness, their own physicality and lived experiences. The best thing about the workshops is that they are suitable for anybody: Actors, teachers, bankers, the butcher the baker, the candlestick maker - and it's a lot of fun.

Who are they for?

Absolutely anyone who would like to give stand up comedy a go, or for those wanting to write/update material and improve their set; anyone who wants to bring more humour into their lives - professionally or personally or both!

What can you expect?

Group and individual activities that encourage openness and playfulness.

Learning how comedians create comedy.Discovering your personal and preferred style of comedy.A build in professional humour-making skills.

I love these classes!! Can't believe I stood up and sang a song and it was funny. Credit to Maggie and her incredibly warm and kind and inspirational energy and teaching style."
