Rochester Independent College is holding a Sixth Form Information Evening on Thursday 17th November 2016 from 6-9pm. The event is an opportunity to learn more about the College and our fresh approach to sixth form education.
There will be drinks and refreshments followed by a short talk by our Head of Sixth Form Dr Todd Dedman about choosing A level subjects, teaching, extra-curricular activities and pastoral care offered by the College. He will repeat this talk later in the evening for those unable to make the earlier time.
Visitors will then be encouraged to speak to our specialist teachers about A level subject content, teaching and assessment and meet some of our students in Underhill Hall.

Emma Brierley - Dukes Medical Applications
Dr Emma Brierley MB BChir MA(Hons) Cantab is a Senior Consultant working at Dukes Medical Applications. She graduated from Cambridge University in 2007 with a degree in Pre-Clinical Medicine and then in 2010 with a degree in Clinical Medicine.
She worked in a variety of specialities including Gastroenterology, Care of the Elderly, Acute Medicine, General Practice, Vascular and General Surgery before finding her passion in Palliative Medicine. She now uses her experience in Medicine, along with strong enthusiasm and dedication to help students become prepared and excel in Medical Applications and become successful applicants and doctors.
Rebecca Williams - Oxbridge Applications
Rebecca leads the worldwide consultancy, Oxbridge Applications team. She holds a degree in Theology from the University of Oxford and now coordinates all of our private client support. Families seek her advice in Private Consultations and find her an invaluable source of ongoing support for up to two years. She works closely with the Dukes advisory board of former Oxford and Cambridge Admissions Tutors to deliver the expertise and practical support that underpins our remarkable success rate. Rebecca still finds time to mentor her own students, successfully supporting them to winning a place at their desired university.
Dr Jon Tabbert - Jon Tabbert Associates
A native of Chicago, Jon began acquiring his expertise in the US university system with a Bachelor’s degree from Bradley University, a Master’s degree from Minnesota State University and a doctorate from the University of North Dakota. While in the United States, he held administrative or faculty positions at the University of North Dakota; Hastings College, Nebraska; and Lake Erie College, Ohio. He later represented a consortium of American universities in Europe, before relocating to the UK in 1982 and later serving as Executive Director of Student Enrolment at Richmond, The American International University in London.
In 1995, Jon founded Jon Tabbert Associates to provide assistance to families and corporations seeking support with school and university placements throughout the world. With Dukes, Jon contributes his vast experience to the benefit of everyone considering applying to US universities.
