Join the UCL’s Skate Club in January for an afternoon celebration of all forms of skating - inline, quad skating, skateboarding, and longboarding – at City Mill Pool Street based very close to UCL new campus, UCL East on the Olympic Park in Stratford, East London.

The event is organised by the UCL Skate Club in collaboration with the Office of the Pro-Provost UCL East and City Mill Skate. We are pleased to offer all UCL students a programme of free skate lessons provided by our partners at Learn To Skateboard. Refreshments will be available.

There are 3 x lessons on offer: taking place at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm, with tuition offered to riders of all abilities by the experienced instructors from the team at Learn To Skateboard. All skateboards, obstacles, and safety equipment will be provided. You are welcome to arrive earlier and have a skate of course.

City Mill Pool Street is now open! It is a research project and part of a wider set of initiatives across UCL that seek to broaden participation in education and ultimately to change perceptions of what attending university can be like. Via a programme of events since 2020, City Mill Skate has been building a diverse community of skateboarders around the site of the UCL East campus.

As part of the afternoon, you will be invited to share your thoughts in a face to face chat about City Mill Skate and its role as a shared community space.
