About our guest artist
Sarah’s work expresses the importance of recognising the beauty of ageing, in order to gain new perspective and appreciation of the elder body.
She is fascinated by the ageing female form and uses her own body as the mould.
Techniques that include extruded polystyrene foam (a material that is used by the building trade to fill holes!) sticky tape, mod rock and other materials to capture lines, creases and folds. Combining often invisible, everyday supplies not only result in a exact replica of the body but provide commentary on only seeing young beautiful bodies not sculpture of the aged female form, that has a beauty all of its own.
