Event description
Join artist and Obiko founder, Linda Williams, for a workshop exploring the fundamentals of drawing with charcoal pencil and gouache paint.

About this event

Linda is known for her contemporary nature-inspired illustrations and artwork. Drawing from observation, the focus of the workshop will be the qualities of an autumnal floral installation by renowned floral artist, Frida Kim. Taking inspiration from the grasses, foliage and flowers, you will explore form, composition, negative space and the practise of simple, flowing mark-making techniques. From these sketchbook experiments, Linda will demonstrate how to transfer your artwork onto notecards. Experimentation and discovering your own unique, creative style will be encouraged. All are welcome, as no previous experience is required.

This event lasts two hours and will take place at the Crafts Council Gallery, 44A Pentonville Rd, London N1 9BY, 020 7806 2500.

Linda Williams currently resides in the beautiful fishermen's town of Hastings UK, she is an artist/designer who graduated from Camberwell College of Arts London in 1999 with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. She is the founder of Obiko, a design studio set up in 2010 which specialises in contemporary, minimal art, illustration and stationery. Her love for nature and simplicity runs through much of her work, which lends itself to sit comfortably within many eclectic home interiors and art galleries. Linda has exhibited locally and in London, her artwork can be found in private homes around the globe with her stationery being stocked in many independent stores. Sketchbooks and pencils are Linda's go to and she is never to be found without them. She places great importance on drawing every day, which has become an integral part of her life.
