Sketching the everyday: Being thrifty
Tue 8 November 2016, 10:30 – 12:00 GMT
Look at everyday life from a different perspective. Join us to find out how sociologists from The University of Manchester do research on our everyday lives and try out one of our more unusual methods - sketching!
Lynne Chapman, urban sketcher, will teach super-quick creative techniques and we will explore our theme – ‘Being thrifty’ – by sketching objects brought from home or from the museum collection.
No artistic experience necessary. All materials provided. Just bring yourself, an object linked to our ‘being thrifty’ theme, and your curiosity.
If this workshop is fully booked, you might be interested in our other sketching workshop and our lunchtime drop-in session also on 8 November.
Part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science.
