SketchUp 2: Progressing

This course will build on the fundamentals taught in SketchUp 1: Getting started.

This is a stand-alone course but part of a series that builds towards a comprehensive and practical knowledge of SketchUp. If you are looking for help to improve SketchUp skills that you have developed yourself, this is probably the course for you.

Problem solving of attendees work and projects

Curves: drawing curved lines, borders and beds, methods and techniques

Textures: orientate, resize

Adding your own textures: using photographs to create your own textures, adding textures from external libraries

Custom geometry: introduction to the follow-me & solid tools set

Methods to create simple features: e.g. Pergola, water feature, table

Arrays: techniques for creating linear and circular repetitions of objects

Create and manage a custom component/ object library set up and save objects to your own library

Creating sections : how to set up and save sections

Scenes: save views that you can retrieve and use as exported images

Importing objects: adding objects from web libraries and adjust them to suit your needs

Sketch to screen: getting a sketch into SketchUp and resizing it correctly

Adding functionality to SketchUp: Plugins, how to find and install

Entourage adding other people’s models to your masterpiece, how to modify them

Pimp my ride: SketchUp can be turbo charged by adding functionality, where to get SketchUp apps

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is free parking on-site. Best accessed by car.

What can I bring into the event?

- Laptop of your choice

- SketchUp Pro loaded

- 3 Button mouse (NOT the “magic” mouse by Apple)

- Your power lead and extension cable

Catering:

Tea and coffee will be available. Please bring your own packed lunch.

Allergen free, decaf and other types of refreshments should be brought by attendees

What's the refund policy?

Tickets will only be refunded if attendance is cancelled more than 30days from the event. There will be a £20 adminisation fee for all cancellations. Tickets cannot be transferred to other events. Full refunds will be given should the event have to be cancelled for any reason.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, tickets will not be sent out prior to this event.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, your ticket can be transferred to a colleague/ friend. You must advise of who is replacing you.

What if I can’t make any of the dates listed?

Our courses are scheduled 6mnths in advance. There may be additional courses later in the year but the date and location are yet to be decided. We do run private courses or for specific groups and these are sometimes made available to a wider audience.
