Ski Strong - Pre-season strength training for your ski holiday

Are you ready to ski from first lift until the last, making the most of perfect weather and deep powder?
What is Ski Strong?
The Mountain Foundry is proud to announce Ski Strong, hosted at Barbers Gym, a workshop designed to prepare you for your ski holiday. It is not just about wall squats. It is about building the raw strength and power to drive through deep snow, it is about the work capacity and endurance to keep going, run after run, to make the most of your holiday, and it is about balancing your body to avoid injury and get stronger day after day.
What does the workshop cover?
Over the course of this one day workshop, the emphasis will be on the work, with workouts covering:
- Mobility and stability.
- Strength for skiing.
- Building a bigger engine for mountain work capacity and endurance.
And lectures on:
- The fundamental movements and how they apply to skiing.
- Programming for ski fitness
- Warming up, cooling down, and maintenance while on your ski holiday
What do I take away?
You will leave the the workshop with a thorough understanding of how best to progress you own training, applying the techiniques and methods you have learned to focus your training and best prepare you for your ski holiday.
You will all take away two template programmes; the first a body weight programme, and the second a gym based programme to use as a starting point for your training.
Is this suitable for snowboarders too?
Absolutely. The workouts and and programming is definitely applicable to snowboarders too and we will cover the differences required in training for different mountain sports including ski touring and cross-country.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
To be confirmed.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Please bring clothing to workout in plus warm layers for when we are covering the educational sections. Please also bring food and water for the day, bear in mind that we will be working out!

What is the refund policy?
A full refund is possible 7 days before the workshop, between 3 and 7 days, 50% will be refunded, less than 3 days there will be no refund.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
