What does it take to create a binding contract online? If you sell goods or services to consumers you need to make sure that your terms of business, including terms that you use to sell online, comply with rules that protect consumers. The new UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 sets standards for goods and services, introduces protections for digital content, governs the fairness of terms and strengthens consumer rights. This session will guide you through what you need to do to protect your business and sell successfully online.
Hosted by students from the School of Law’s CommLaw Pro Bono initiative
Skill Build is a series of workshops which can help you make your ideas happen. This semester, we are concentrating on developing your entrepreneurial skills, so regardless of your degree background; you will have knowledge of how the business world is operated. The course is centred on the Business Model Canvas (don’t worry if you don’t know what that is- we will cover it in our sessions) and will give you loads of advice on how to get a business idea off the ground
Skill Build is both HEARable and can be used for the Sheffield Graduate Award. In order to do this, you need to attend five out of seven sessions and pass an assignment.
These sessions take place every Thursday between 6.15-7.30pm in St George’s Lecture Theatre
