Come along for a relaxed and friendly outdoor map reading skill share!
This isn’t a professional course — it’s a community-led day where we’ll practice together, share what we know, and learn from each other. Whether you’ve never used a map before or want to brush up on your skills, you’re very welcome.
We’ll go over the basics of using an OS map, like reading symbols, understanding contour lines, and finding our location. If you have a compass, bring it along — we’ll explore how to use it too.
After a bit of map chat, we’ll head off in small groups for a short walk to put it all into practice. It’s not about being perfect — it’s about learning by doing, having fun, and helping each other along the way.
This is a phone-free session — we won’t be using GPS or apps to navigate. Instead, we’ll tune into the landscape and enjoy slowing down with a map in hand.
