Course Outline:
The ‘LEAP’ Skills Bootcamp for Early Years Leaders is a twelve-week course designed for adult learners, aged 19 and over, who are managers and deputy managers in Early Years settings to enable them to acquire the latest leadership and industry skills to advance business operations and organisational best practice.
It incorporates the internationally recognised ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management, alongside bespoke sessions hand-picked to cover key topics relevant to the Early Years sector.
The course covers core leadership and management topics such as communication skills, problem solving and team development. It explores motivational techniques, feedback models, and inclusive leadership practices relevant to the Early Years sector. Participants engage in peer supported group discussions and reflection activities. Practical application is supported through work-based assignments and personalised feedback (see below for a full overview of the programme).
By attending the ‘LEAP’ Skills Bootcamp for Early Years Leaders, learners will:
· Develop key leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
· Gain practical tools to manage teams and contribute to the development of your early years setting.
· Enhance decision-making, problem solving, and team building ability.
· Build confidence, self-awareness, and resilience as a leader.
· Learn from real-world scenarios and peer collaboration and benefit from ‘live’ engagement sessions with industry experts from a range of local organisations specialising in Early Language Development, Child-Focused Practice and Infant and Child Mental Health.
· Gain an internationally recognised ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management; a qualification valued by employers.
Assessment is completed through three work-based assignments. Although this course does include supported time for individual project work, this course does also require some self-study outside of the scheduled sessions.
Learners will also benefit from access to industry experts in key topics for the Early Years sector, who will share their insights to assist you with your next steps for employment or professional development.
