Event description

Description

Volunteers will have different reasons and motivations for choosing to volunteer their time. They may opt to volunteer to develop their skills, gain experience or give something back to the community. It is the role of the Organiser to effectively recruit, motivate, manage and develop volunteers to ensure both parties benefit fully from the process.

Our Skills for Volunteer Organisers Programme offers two stand alone workshops.

This workshop aims to bring together Volunteer Organisers to share and learn the knowledge and skills required for supporting and supervising volunteers.

In this workshop we will explore:

  • The value and principles of support and supervision
  • Common methods and approaches to implement support and supervision.
  • Recognition of and managing difficult behaviours
  • The value of organisational procedures

This workshop is designed to help you develop the confidence to be able to carry out the responsibilities of supervising and supporting your volunteers.

The first workshop, Skills for Volunteer Organisers 1: Recruiting and Attracting Volunteers will preceed on Monday 8 January 2018 (please note these are stand alone courses and booking must be completed separately for each course).

Refreshments and a training workbook will be provided.

WE ARE PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO OFFER THIS TRAINING FREE OF CHARGE TO GROUPS IN NORTH YORKSHIRE WITH AN ANNUAL TURNOVER OF LESS THAN £5,000.
