Skills Lab - Basildon - Morning Session

The Health and Care Academy, in partnership with Essex County Council and Medical Mavericks, is offering an exciting hands-on workshop. Discover amazing careers in the NHS while testing out your skills and having a go at real medical observations.

Activities include...

• Record and print an ECG from your heart.
• Use a needle to take fake blood from a dummy arm.
• Try your hand at keyhole surgery.
• See inside your body with an ultrasound machine.
• Scan your retina with an ophthalmoscope.
• Listen to your pulse with a pulse doppler.
• See your veins under a vein scanner.
• Take basic medical obs.

This opportunity is available to individuals in Years 10 - 13, who are interested in exploring careers in healthcare.
