About this event
Skills Practice Session – Online
Especially for past webinar attendees, but all are welcome.
This live online session is designed for individuals who have attended my previous webinars and wish to practice, experiment, and refine their therapeutic skills.
If you wish to book more than one session, please get in touch for a discounted fee.
It’s a chance to step into both the Counsellor and the Client role in a safe, supportive environment. You’ll explore practical tools and processes you’ve seen or experienced in past events, with space to reflect, learn, and celebrate your progress.
What to Expect
- Breakout room practice in pairs (Counsellor & Client).
- Guided process review before entering practice rooms if requested.
- Five minutes each way, plus a five-minute debrief per round.
- Space to share insights, sticking points, and successes back in the group
This is not a test—it’s a learning space. Come with curiosity, courage, and a willingness to explore.
Processes we can work with
You’ll be invited (not required) to explore:
- Aggression Processes – The Balloon & The Paper.
- Guilt – Judgements.
- The Internal Saboteur.
- Dialogue with the Deceased.
- Projection and Chair Work.
Key Notes
- As a Counsellor: Practice asking different types of questions, notice when you’re taking the “Middle Ground,” and offer interventions (experiments, like putting a sensation, belief, judgment, person or event on paper).
- As Client: Experience what interventions feel like. Please choose manageable issues (not major past or present ones). Ask yourself and share what resonated and what didn’t. For example, with grief and loss, choose the loss of your first pet or significant toy.
Practical Details
- Limited places – book early to secure your spot.
- Certificate of Attendance provided (counts toward CPD).
- Bursary available for up to 2 participants (apply before booking by emailing charidge@gmail.com).
- I reserve the right to cancel if fewer than 10 people are signed up.
- If we don’t have even numbers, I will step in as a practice partner if desired.
- If you decide not to go into a breakout room to discuss and explore finer points of a particular process or theory, that’s ok and your choice.
What to Bring
- Your courage
- Different coloured balloons
- Loose-leaf paper & pens
We learn by doing. If, as a client, you feel your practitioner could have asked a different or better question, share it—that’s part of the learning together.
If, after the day, you feel you have some unfinished business, you can always contact me to explore what might help for a one-off session (or more). Contact me for details and your want.
Some recent feedback:
It was fantastic. I can't wait to watch it all again on the recording. I will certainly be recommending to my supervisees. I have been working as a therapist for over 16 years and attended the event as a refresher for my CPD needs, I wasn't expecting what I gained from it, so how wrong I was! Thank you :) I have learned so much today in such an easy to understand way (I to have dyslexia). I have seen the benefits and will be passing this on to my clients and supervisees, everyone is a winner, thanks Stefan. I thought it was one of the best short learning events I have attended in the past year. I will certainly be buying Stefan's book and I will be seeking him out from now on. T. B.
