Learn the essential skills required to help enhance your research capabilities. Explore how the different sources of information we consult, the types of questions we ask and what we do with the information we gather can influence what you learn about a site.

DBA focuses on a specific place or landscape and uses a wide variety of resources to investigate how they have changed overtime. Learn how to use a range of historic and contemporary sources to help locate, interpret and characterise the material remains of past human activity.

DBA is used in archaeology prior to undertaking fieldwork to provide an overview of a site, this helps to contextualise the importance, significance, and heritage assets of the site they are investigating.
