SKRONKFEST is the annual all day event of the regular SKRONK open mic improvisation nights. The day starts with several workshops, then open mic improv sessions which anyone can join then a series of bands and open performances through the nights. We welcome musicians, singers, poets and movement, anything improvised, collbaoration is everything.

Workshops:

Workshop #1 Hands in the Dark. Mysterious, collaborative and immersive, one for those seeking new experiences and who want to understand interaction on a deeper level. Lead by Nuno Veiga and Yolande Bramble-Carter.

Workshop #2 VoiceDNA The workshop is not about singing to impress people, but we do cover the fundamentals of singing. With the help of breathing exercises, improvisation games and group singing, we learn to realise the full potential of our voice.

Workshop #3: Group Improvisation with Conduction. Rick Jensen will lead the participants to create a spontaneous piece of music, all ages, abilities and instruments welcome. Perfect for people new to improv, maybe you have wanted to join SKRONK and felt a little intimidated, nows your chance to learn amongst experienced improvisers.

Open sessions: sign up on the day, performing gets you free entry and you will be allocated other performers to make spontaneous music with.
