So, you are considering joining Action Mental Health for our skydive on Saturday 12th October in support of World Mental Health Day on 10th October. Fantastic!

But what exactly are you getting involved in you say? Well, let us tell you a little more and we are sure you will want to join us for such an amazing cause...

A tandem skydive is a combined free-fall and parachute descent where you are strapped to a professional parachute instructor. The plane will climb to approximately 13,000ft where you will exit with your instructor to begin your free-fall. After reaching speeds of from 110-195mph, your free-fall will end as your instructor deploys the parachute. You will have approximately 7 minutes of flight time, soaring through the air and taking in your beautiful surrounds, as you circle down to the landing site below.

You will receive full a full training and health and safety briefing before your jump by a qualified instructor. This event is very much weather dependent. If your instructor feels it is not safe to complete your jump on the day, they will invite you back on another day to take part. You will not have to go through training again.

Most importantly, by taking part in Action Mental Health’s skydive this October in support of World Mental Health Day, not only will you be helping us to smash the stigma of mental health in Northern Ireland, but the funds you raise will go towards supporting your local community on their journey towards positive mental health.

More specifically, your sponsorship will go towards supporting our resilience programmes in schools and the local community. Over 250,000 people in Northern Ireland, that we know of, have a mental health problem - this equates to 1 in 5 and this is just the people we know of. Sadly, many go without help. Half of all mental health problems begin before the age of 14 and 10% of children and young people aged 5-16 have a diagnosable mental health disorder. Our aim is to provide early intervention and develop healthy coping mechanisms to build a more resilient youth, foster healthier work places for the future, and create a more caring and nurturing environment for generations to come.

Our vision is a society which actively values and supports people on their journey towards positive mental health. With our community working with us, this vision is possible.

The minimum sponsorship covers the cost of the jump with the remaining funds coming directly to Action Mental Health.

Please note, on the day of your jump you will be required to pay a £40 personal insurance fee.
80% of your sponsorship (£320) should be submitted to Action Mental Health no later than Friday 27th September 2019.

Our Fundraising Team will be here to support you every step of the way. Once signed up, you will receive a registration pack with lots of hints, tips and ideas on how you can reach your £400 sponsorship. Your pack will also include sponsor forms and guidelines on how to set up an online JustGiving page. If you need any additional advice or fundraising materials at any time, we will only ever be a phone call or email away!

So, we obviously have you convinced! Sign up today via our online form or if you do have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch:
