Festival in My House
Slam Story Festival: The Fe/Male Gaze
Old Trafford, Manchester
Sat 6 May 2017
As part of MIF’s Festival in My House series, Sumera Cheema invites you to Slam Story: The Fe/Male Gaze.
Inspired by The Moth, a New York storytelling event and podcast, Slam Story: The Fe/Male Gaze is a storytelling festival that invites celebrater storytellers and brave audience members to share true stories on stage. Hosted in an intimate living space in Old Trafford, audiences are encouraged to throw their name in a hat to be picked to tell a story on the spot alongside featured speakers. The atmosphere will be fun, with the hosts telling their own stories or telling jokes in between.
Audience members will be offered snacks and refreshments inspired by New York at the 6pm welcome.
During the afternoon, everyone is invited to an artist led writing workshop leading up to the evening festival, at which all stories must be loosely themed around the subject of The Fe/Male Gaze. Join Sumeera and invited guests for an evening of stories that celebrate life, creativity and the human imagination.
