Slamovision Grand Final Watch Party

It's time for the UNESCO Cities of Literature to put forward their finest selected slam poet to represent them in the Slamovision Grand Finale!

18 Cities of Literature - including Exeter - are participating in Slamovision 2025: Bremen, Dublin, Exeter, Gothenburg, Heidelberg, Iowa City, Kozhikode, Ljubljana, Manchester, Melbourne, Nottingham, Odessa, Quebec, Reyjkavik, Slemani, Tartu, Vilnius, Wroclaw.

Exeter UNESCO City of Literature is hosting a watch-a-long of the Grand Finale of Slamovision, streamed live from Dublin. This is the perfect chance for local poetry fans to get together and cheer on Exeter's involvement in this global poetry showdown!

We will also have live performances from local poets and performers - Lineup TBA!

• Support new projects that bring literature and culture to all of us, making our communities and neighbourhoods more vibrant, fun, and inclusive

About Slamovision

Slamovision is the spoken word version of Eurovision, hosted by the UNESCO Cities of Literature — where each City slams their way to the grand title of Slamovision Champion every year since 2019! The UNESCO Creative Cities of Literature hold this esteemed international poetry competition to explore different approaches to poetry performance, and is aimed at increasing cultural participation within individual cities as well as showcasing local talent on an international stage.

Accessibility Statement

The Workshop space is located on Exeter Phoenix's ground floor. Step-free access to the building is available via a ramped entrance on the side of the building. The side entrance is equipped with automatic doors.

A radar key is required for the accessible toilet on the ground floor next to the Workshop; the key is available from the box office.

There is one accessible parking space for Blue Badge Holders. To reserve this for your visit, please call the box office team on 01392 667080 who will provide you with a parking permit upon arrival.

During the evening in the cafe bar the music is louder and the lighting is lower. The cafe bar can become busy at various times which makes it louder. The building can be busy with multiple events happening at the same time, if during your visit you feel you need a quieter space please ask a member of the Exeter Phoenix team and they will try to accommodate this wherever possible.
