Event description

Description

In association with Clarion, we are delighted to bring together three industry-leaders for this fantastic event, designed for those about to depart or currently on parental leave and those who have returned within the last 18 months.

Parenthood enhances many aspects of our lives but it can also leave us feeling sleep-deprived, with a changing identity and wondering how to reconcile our personal and professional lives. With this one-hour, informal event, we've got you covered!

Join us for sessions with:

Nikki Alderson (Nikki Alderson Coaching)

Nikki has 19 years experience as a criminal barrister, and is now a specialist Corporate and Executive Coach & the author of Amazon No. 1 Bestseller, Raising the Bar: empowering female lawyers through coaching. Having experienced three maternity leave returns of her own, Nikki now supports law firms to retain female talent, empowers female lawyers to achieve career ambitions and has coached countless clients to return after career breaks with confidence and purpose. Hear Nikki's top tips, and the pitfalls to avoid, to enable a successful return on your own terms.

Lauren Peacock (Little Sleep Stars)

Also a former lawyer, Lauren retrained following her own journey with a sleepless child and has been helping tired families ever since. With an evidence-based practice, which enables parents to improve their child's sleep without the process being an ordeal, Lauren has helped hundreds of families gently find their way back to sleep. Did you know that a little one's sleep often deteriorates when parents return to work? Lauren will explain why and, crucially, how you can navigate this tricky sleep milestone calmly and effectively.

Harry Purewal (A Girl Named Harry)

As an expert in Visibility through Colour and Style, Harry has helped women within corporate and business environments effortlessly pull their look together to reflect their authentic selves. With a former 20 year career in Corporate HR, Harry has personally experienced the challenges of balancing conflicting responsibilities, the loss of identity and confidence on returning after maternity leave. Harry will empower you to develop the unconscious competence in the art of dressing so you can focus on your true value.

All ticket proceeds will be donated to Smart Works, Leeds, who support women across West Yorkshire, providing work outfits from their stock of high-quality clothes donated by the public, local businesses and retailers. With styling advice and interview training offered too, the support helps women feel more confident and increases their chances of securing jobs.
