Event description
Encounter a wide range of upland wildlife, including wildflowers, birds and butterflies in a stunning location.

About this Event

Join RSPB NI’s Katie Gibb and the Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust to explore this special area of the Antrim Hills within the Antrim Coast & Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You will hear all about the work of RSPB NI and encounter a wide range of upland wildlife, including wildflowers, birds and butterflies in a stunning location. And while Slemish is famous for its association with St Patrick, Geological Survey NI will also be on hand to talk about the mountain’s violent geological past as one of the finest examples of a volcanic plug on the island of Ireland.

Total distance is 5.5km over some strenuous terrain.

Not suitable for under-16s. Route will be wet and rough in places - suitable footwear and clothing required. Some fences/stiles to be crossed.
