So your Year Abroad (YA) is over…
Whether you lived the dream or your YA was a wake-up call, the end of your time abroad isn’t all “down to earth with a bump”.
Your YA has been a transforming experience: you’ve definitely strengthened your language skills and you’ve also gained a wealth of new experience you didn’t have before you embarked on your study/work placement or language assistantship.
Led by Gemma Garrett, Careers Consultant for the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film, at QMUL, this interactive session will enable you to:
Understand the value of your year abroad to employers
Present this on your CV and when speaking to employers
Understand your career options and how to research careers that will be right for you
You’ll come away from the workshop with an ‘elevator pitch’ explaining how your YA makes you stand out from the crowd, as well as statements you can use on your CV to convince employers you have the skills they are looking for.
This workshop is for SLLF students.
